During 2016 EWC consolidated its position in the field of education for democracy and human rights and expanded its core activities through new partnerships. A major new initiative was established at Utøya in Norway, with implications well beyond the country.
EWC activities reached 4188 multipliers from 26 member states. This is a 93% increase compared to 2015. Through their local activities, these multipliers reached approx. 40 000 beneficiaries. This is a 66% increase compared to 2015.
EWC is expecting increased demand for capacity building in education for democratic citizenship in 2017 and is ready to continue and strengthen our work together with our partners across Europe in the challenging times ahead.
